| Lebanon City Wide Clean Up
2009 The U. S. Center
Foundation, Inc. sponsored the 3rd Annual City-wide
Cleanup on Saturday, September 12, 2009. Several of the
28 rural and city volunteers arrived early at the
Lebanon Alumni Grade School lunchroom for a continental
breakfast. By 8:15 a.m., the Foundation’s president,
Lonnie Whitten, had given instructions and the clean up
started at the north end of town. Two tractors with
loaders, 4 trucks and several pickups and trailers were
all donated for the morning’s work. Old furniture,
household hazardous waste, metal, appliances, tree limbs
and other items not allowed in normal trash pickup were
loaded and hauled away, free of charge. Volunteers are
what make small communities work and Lebanon has the
very best for its many community projects.
